Engendering Change by Playing Your Part
Empowering Youth as Champions Against Gender-Based Violence
Engendering Change by Playing Your Part was a transformative youth-led initiative implemented by Do-Nation Foundation Inc. and funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
The project empowered 14 youth champions across seven Saint Lucian communities to advocate against gender-based violence (GBV) through digital storytelling, street theatre, and community outreach. Highlights included a national #PlayYourPart bus tour, 18 social media awareness videos, 10 live performances, and the creation of a youth-friendly version of the GBV Bill with an accompanying animated video.
Reaching over 5,000 people island-wide, the project strengthened youth leadership, raised awareness of GBV legislation, and inspired a movement toward equality and respect.
Together, we continue to Engender Change one community, one voice, one act at a time.
